Every Feature Serves a Tooling Outcome

The F870 is engineered from the ground up for consistent, non-stop tooling production.

Fully Heated Chamber 95°C
Fish_Lens_Empty_Printer

Maintains a consistent thermal environment across the full 1000mm build length. Critical for dimensional accuracy and warp-free results on large tooling — especially with Nylon 12CF. The longest fully heated chamber available in industrial FDM.

Regenerative Drying System
Regenerative_Drying_System

Factory floors aren't climate-controlled labs. Integrated dryer bays keep materials at peak condition — dry wet material, keep dry material dry. Reduces operator intervention, material-related variability, and failed builds.

Three New Print Heads
N_Series_Family

N14 for fine resolution (0.18mm), N20H hardened for carbon-fiber composites (0.25mm), and N25 high-speed for maximum throughput (0.33mm). Match the output to the application — precision tooling or high-volume fixtures.

Manufacturing Floor Ready
F870_Printer_Frontal _View

MTConnect for smart-factory integration. E-Stop for safety compliance. Industrial equipment life. GrabCAD Print and Insight software for managing jobs across shifts and operators. Mobile monitoring built in.

FAQ

The Stratasys F870 is designed for manufacturers that need to produce large, strong, and accurate parts on the factory floor. It is ideal for automotive OEMs and suppliers, industrial manufacturers, and organizations that require production tooling, jigs, fixtures, factory-floor tools, and full-scale functional prototypes. The system combines a large-format build envelope, industrial thermoplastics, and reliable operation to support real-world manufacturing environments.

The F870 features a large build volume of 1,000 x 610 x 610 mm (39.4 x 24 x 24 in.), providing 372,000 cm³ (22,677 in³) of build capacity. The generous build envelope allows manufacturers to produce full-scale jigs, fixtures, tooling, and prototypes in a single build while maintaining consistent part quality through its fully heated chamber.

The F870 supports nine Stratasys materials, including FDM® Nylon 12CF™, ABS-M30™ Black, FDM® ASA in White, Ivory, Light Gray, Black, Red, and Yellow and  the new FDM® ABS Draft (Gray) product, coming Q3 2026.    All model materials use SR-35™ soluble support, simplifying material changes and reducing workflow complexity across applications ranging from large prototypes to production tooling.

The F870 uses three new N-style print heads, each suited to different applications. The N14 handles ASA (all colors) and ABS-M30 with layer resolutions of 0.18, 0.25, and 0.33 mm and throughput up to 25 cm³/hr (1.5 in³/hr). The N20H features a hardened drive and tip for FDM Nylon 12CF composite material, printing at 0.25 mm resolution with throughput up to 21 cm³/hr (1.3 in³/hr). The N25 is a high-speed head for ASA (all colors) at 0.33 mm resolution, delivering up to 66 cm³/hr (4 in³/hr), which is up to two times faster than the N14.

The F870 delivers production-grade dimensional accuracy with XY accuracy of ±0.254 mm (±0.010 in.) or ±0.002 mm/mm, whichever is greater. Z-axis accuracy is ±0.200 mm (±0.008 in.) or ±0.002 mm/mm, whichever is greater, plus one layer height. Combined with a fully heated build chamber and integrated material drying, the system is engineered to produce large, accurate, and repeatable parts across long print runs.  It is important to note that accuracy is geometry and material dependent. Achievable accuracy specification derived from statistical data at 95% dimensional yield.

The F870 builds upon the capabilities of the F770 by adding integrated material drying, automatic material changeover, support for carbon fiber-reinforced FDM Nylon 12CF, new high-throughput N-style print heads, and compatibility with larger 4,100 cm³ material spools shared with the F3300 platform. While ASA and ABS materials provide similar performance to the F770, the F870 is designed to deliver longer unattended operation, greater productivity, and stronger composite part capabilities.

Yes. The F870 uses the same 4,100 cm³ (250 in³) material spools as the Stratasys F3300, enabling a shared consumables platform across both systems. This common spool design simplifies inventory management, helps reduce material stocking requirements, and provides flexibility for organizations operating both platforms.

The F870 is designed for large-format manufacturing applications including jigs, fixtures, factory-floor tooling, end-of-arm tooling (EOAT), check gauges, drill guides, forming tools, ergonomic aids, production aids, and full-scale functional prototypes. With support for strong, stiff FDM Nylon 12CF parts and a 1-meter build length, the system enables manufacturers to produce tooling and prototypes that would otherwise require machining or assembly from multiple parts.

The F870 requires three-phase 208V, 30A power and does not require shop air thanks to its integrated vacuum pump. For installation, facilities must accommodate double-door access and forklift handling for uncrating and placement. Recommended operating conditions are 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F), 30-70% relative humidity, and 99 cm (39 in.) clearance on each side of the printer.

Yes. The F870 supports FDM Nylon 12CF, a carbon fiber-reinforced thermoplastic designed for strong and stiff tooling, fixtures, and functional manufacturing parts. The dedicated N20H hardened print head is specifically engineered to process composite materials, while the fully heated chamber and integrated dryer bays help ensure consistent part quality throughout long-duration builds.

The F870 is engineered for longer unattended operation than traditional FDM systems. Throughput increases up to 2 times faster than the standard N14 print head when the N25 high-speed print head is used to print ASA parts.  The F870 print speed also benefits from the automatic material changeover, integrated dryer bays, and 4,100 cm³ material spools that enable extended production runs with minimal operator intervention. The platform can support up to two weeks of continuous printing without needing intervention for material changes.
