SAF technology is powder-based additive manufacturing providing higher-volume part production at a lower cost per part.
SAF technology powers the H350 powder bed 3D printer. SAF uses HAF™ infrared absorption fluid to fuse powdered polymer particles together in layers to build parts. Powder management is achieved with Big Wave™ technology, which provides reliable powder distribution across the build area. Piezo-electric print heads jet the HAF fluid onto the powder, which is then exposed to infrared energy that fuses the powder together to form each layer of the part.
Built for higher-volume additive production volume that is tailored for short-run jobs, SAF technology gives you greater thermal control over the build process compared to other powder bed technologies. The resulting benefits include consistent part properties regardless of nesting density, which ultimately provides higher yields and lower per-part cost.
SAF technology employs features that best the competition on several fronts. Big Wave unidirectional powder management maintains a uniform print bed where all points experience equal temperatures resulting in consistent print quality. Industrial piezo-electric print heads are non-consumable items, and the requirement for only one fusing fluid reduces ongoing maintenance and operational costs.
SAF technology is changing the way manufacturers view the production of plastic parts. It creates opportunities that previously weren’t economically feasible with injection molding or other 3D printing methods due to high tool-up costs, lack of build capacity or supply chain constraints. SAF technology changes that paradigm, offering new business possibilities.
The high production capacity, part consistency and resulting lower cost per part make SAF technology a superior choice for part production in high-mix, higher-volume industries like automotive and general manufacturing.
Although designed for volume-quantity production, SAF technology’s speed and capacity for intricate details is equally capable of rapid prototyping and tooling applications.
The H350 powder-based 3D printer is the current printer system that uses SAF technology. Employing a large print capacity and the ability to choose your file preparation software with no cloud connection requirement, the H350 lets you have complete control over your production.
SAF technology powder-based polymers deliver the material properties needed for volume production of plastic parts including high impact resistance, ductility, low moisture absorption and thermal stability.
GrabCAD Print software is what makes Stratasys 3D printers go, providing the features and flexibility to make 3D printing easy and understandable. At its core, GrabCAD Print software removes the friction of going from a CAD model to a physical 3D printed part and speeds up the process. You designed the part, now let GrabCAD Print software do the rest to make it a reality.
